Warm, wine country road
Barossa Valley was our first wedding anniversary weekend destination.
We decided to stay a bit out of town to lodge in this beautiful, quaint restored cottage called The Bootmaker’s Cottage.
After sipping shiraz, feasting on the local produce (like Maggie Beer‘s famous pheasant pate and The Barossa Valle Cheese Co. selection of goodies), we strolled the cottage surrounding in the afternoon.
Initially, we headed out to see the sheep farm across from the cottage and to explore the old German church, but one of the highlights was simply the road right outside the cottage:
Not just because it was our wedding anniversary but the beautiful countryside was something I wanted to capture into something that we can decorate our place with.
I bought three mini canvases and this was the first of the three travel series canvas (the second one is Bluebird).
I haven’t painted with acrylics in a long time and I enjoyed how I can keep building up layers and its vibrancy.
It’s good to mix up the media you work with, it keeps it interesting!
